The Armstrong Atlantic State University Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is a scientific and educational organization dedicated to advancing the art, science, engineering, and application of information technology, serving both professional and public interests by fostering the open interchange of information and by promoting the highest professional and ethical standards.
The current incarnation of the AASU chapter was rechartered in 2001. Our chapter holds meetings once a month during the spring and fall semesters. The meetings provide members of the AASU School of Computing, and students studying in other fields, the chance the learn something new about the computer industry. Also, this provides meeting participants to get to know fellow computer scientists and information technologists in the Savannah, GA region. In addition to our monthly meetings, our chapter sponsors activites that are outside the realm of computer. Such events include the annual Welcome Back cookout each August, and other events like the Sweetheart 5K run.

Founded in 1947, the ACM is a major force in advancing the skills of information technology professionals and students worldwide. Today, our 75,000 members and the public turn to the ACM for the industry's leading Portal to Computing Literature, authoritative publications, pioneering conferences, and providing leadership for the 21st century.
